Bakers & Baristas opened here back in January 2015. A liquor license placard for Bakers & Barristas posted out front now says:

“A new D Restaurant serving pastries and sandwiches. Seating Capacity of 36 and Total Occupancy Load of 36. The Restaurant will include an Entertainment Endorsement.”

Wondering if you’ve heard any scuttlebutt on Rotonda’s opening? I live in the neighborhood and haven’t seen any signage go up, and progress has seemed to stall (again!), though the inside seems almost complete. Yesterday we reported that “The Mellow Mushroom in Adams Morgan has been closed for at least 5 days.” In certain circles panic quickly followed. Others said, this is simply the Mellow Mushroom way. And it appears the later was correct.

Angela writes: “Got a friend who works for their company… he said it’s gonna open back up.”

And now they’ve added signage to their door. Another reader hears they may even reopen this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Been getting a bunch of worried messages about Mellow Mushroom in Adams Morgan:

“The Mellow Mushroom in Adams Morgan has been closed for at least 5 days. Something must be up!? Thanks for any info you can provide about one of the neighborhood’s best bars.”

“do you know anything about the closure of Mellow Mushroom on 18th? There was no sign on the door but it was mysteriously closed when I went yesterday”

Readers have passed on a number of rumors including a broken water heater but apparently there aren’t any notes or notices of violations on any of the doors or windows. (more…)
