On Sunday, January 14, my fiancée lost a sapphire tennis bracelet at Franklin Hall on Florida Avenue.

This bracelet belonged to my mother who passed away when I was a small child, so in the event that anyone picked it up, I would really appreciate its return. Reward for anyone with info.”

“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I lost a treasured member of our family on the way to the Commanders-49ers game on Sunday. Jeeve is our good luck 49ers gnome. We’ve taken him to sports bars. We took him to California, including Levi’s Stadium. We We even bought him a nice bottle of rum for Christmas (hoping he would share with us.) We always made sure he could see the TV when a game was on.

Sadly, he fell out of his pack either in the Federal Center SW Metro station or on a Blue Line train to FedEx Field sometime around noon on Dec. 31.

I am offering a $50 reward for his safe return.”

From WMATA:

“Left something on Metro and need to get it back? If it ends up at Metro’s lost and found, you may be in luck. Metro will now keep a wider list of lost items left behind on trains, buses, at stations, and other Metro facilities.

The new policy, updates changes made due to pandemic-related budget constraints in 2021 that restricted Metro’s lost and found storage to wallets and electronics such as phones, tablets, laptops, and cameras only.

In addition to these items, Metro’s lost and found department will now work to also reunite customers with lost keys, glasses, backpacks, headphones, luggage, and purses. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Yesterday (Wednesday) when I got on the metro, I found pocketbook / wallet left on a seat. I asked those on the car if it was theirs or they saw whose it was, but no one did. Inside were a few pre-paid credit cards, a some cash, and a national identity card for a South American country. Since her name was there, I looked online to try to find her, and do think I found a Facebook page and LinkedIn page for her. I sent her messages on both platforms last night, but haven’t heard back. Today, I called and emailed the DC location of the embassy her identity card is from, thinking that with the card they might be able to reach her, but haven’t heard back from them, either. (more…)

I’m hoping the community may be able to help find two items- my grandfather’s high school class ring and my grandmother’s phi beta kappa key, which were both stolen along with a few other sentimental items like an old golf tee and a dog tag when my home was recently burglarized. I realize it’s a very slim chance, but given the personal value to me, I want to try any/all avenues. (more…)
