750 Park Road, NW

“Dear PoPville,

On Tuesday morning, January 9, I found a wallet outside the entrance to the Soldiers’ Home National Cemetery in Petworth. It contained some sensitive documents but no money. It appears to potentially belong to an individual with the initials J.A.R.C., or maybe R.A.R.C. I turned it in to MPD’s 4th District Substation on Park Road NW. Hopefully the owner will be able to claim their wallet.”

Thanks to Anna for passing on from the Brightwood Listserv:

“Fellow Neighbors,

I found a Knoxville College class of 1985 graduation ring on the streets of downtown DC, near the Washington Monument, next to a food truck tire.

The name engraved on the interior says, Cheryl A. Essex.

Through simple research, I found that Cheryl may have been a law enforcement officer, is originally from Washington, DC but currently lives in Maryland.

Since DC is a huge networking society, I decided to reach out on here.

I’m hoping this message can be shared, or tips can be given.

I know what it’s like to lose something valuable.

I want to give her the ring back!

Help me find her!

Best,
Emily”

If you are/know Cheryl please email [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with Emily.

“On 8/1 I lost a gold ring that looks like a little shield with small diamonds on it. It would have fallen off my hand around 9 AM walking down 21st Street NW from R to L (Dupont/West End area). Could also be on the 43 bus. Cash reward if found. It is very sentimental and I appreciate anyone who can help me find it. People can call or text me at 973-202-2192.”

Also another reader found Edwin S Kibunja’s wallet. If you are him or know him please get in touch so we can get you your wallet back. Please email [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.

Is this your Drone?

drone

“Dear PoPville,

We came back from our holiday break to find a drone in our front yard in the 1300 block of Perry Place, NW.

We do not know how long it had been there, since we had been gone since mid-December, but we’d love to get it back to its owner. Can you help?”

If yours email [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP. Also, quick reminder for ya, DC is a DC No Drone Zone as designated by the FAA…

lost-and-found

“It was in a parking space against the curb, halfway between N & O on the east side of 9th Street NW, so I suspect it fell out of/off of a car. It’s full of CFA study guides and black binders of class notes as well as a couple of personal items.

Message me if you lost it & tell me what the personal items are; we will get it back to you somehow.”

“On Saturday I found a men’s silver wedding band in the alley between 7th Street and 7th Place, NW. It’s fairly distinctive with gold detailing and raised engraving. I’m sure someone is missing it so just wanted to see if you would share this with the group.”

Email [email protected] if it’s yours and I’ll put you in touch with OP

“Dear PoPville,

I lost a ring on my run tonight and I’m desperate. Small, gold, has the initials ELE on it. I was on 14th from Monroe to mt. Pleasant, Mt pleasant to Harvard, Harvard to Adams mill rd, Adams mill to park, park to 16th, down 16th to Euclid, Euclid to 13th, 13th to Monroe and back to 14th and Monroe. Convoluted route I realize. If anyone is wandering around on those streets and can keep an eye out for it I would SERIOUSLY appreciate it. The ring isn’t anything fancy, just major sentimental value. It’s a very old gift from my grandparents who both passed away and I’m just so sad to have lost it. Figured it was worth asking my kind neighbors to keep a look out before I give up. If you happen to find it, please send me an email ([email protected]).”

notebook

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking my dog down Holmead Place in Columbia Heights when I found two books, and two notebook/planner type books strewn along the sidewalk. I think the owner is a teacher (based on the notes in the notebook and the other books I’ve found with the notebooks), but I can’t find a phone number or name on any of the items. I would love to get this stuff back to its rightful owner. [email protected]
