“Chef Masako Morishita will soon launch a traditional Japanese breakfast service, the first of its kind in Washington, DC, at Perry’s in Adams Morgan (1811 Columbia Rd, NW). Beginning on October 21 and available every other Saturday, the new Japanese breakfast menu features a $42 pre-set offering of traditional items including grilled salt-cured ocean trout accompanied by a sampling of small dishes such as Shiso Dashi Maki Tamago, a Japanese-style soft omelet made with jidori eggs and shiso; Nikujaga – beef tenderloin, potatoes and carrot stew and Nasu Agedashi – fried shishito and eggplant in a sweet dashi soy broth. House-made Nuka Zuke, rice bran pickled cucumber and carrots, round out the menu with condiments like homemade furikake and nori.
