At Long Last, I Egg You, “An Egg Concept from The Fried Rice Collective” opens on Saturday!!

Ed. Note: You can check out the menu here.

From a press release:

“From The Fried Rice Collective’s Chef/Owners Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, comes I Egg You, a new full-service breakfast and lunch destination that takes the humble egg from pop-up to official brick-and-mortar. I Egg You will offer a menu of creative stuffed breakfast sandwiches using locally sourced ingredients from trusted local purveyors such as Shilla Bakery, Logan Sausage, Ivy City Smokehouse, and La Colombe Coffee.

I Egg You will offer a larger menu

than is currently available at the pop-up operating out of the Capitol Hill – ChiKo location. Guests can indulge in mouth-watering hearty breakfast sandwiches such as the You Bacon Me Crazy, the Ribeye Steak & Egg with A1 aioli and caramelized onions, or the open-faced Lox of Love with smoked salmon, capers, and deviled egg spread. Lunch sandwiches include the ‘Which Came First, The Chicken Or The Egg,’ which combines Herby Chicken Salad & The Devil’s Egg Salad; pork tonkatsu with green cabbage and curry dipping sauce; and a turkey club sandwich featuring both roasted turkey and turkey rillette.

“We are thrilled to offer the Capitol Hill community something new and exciting,” says Chef Drewno. “We want to create a brunch destination that becomes a staple in the community, where people can gather and enjoy great food with warm, attentive service.”

The 1,800 square foot space is designed to seat 60 people and offers breakfast and lunch seven days per week. There is a full-service bar (think every breakfast cocktail under the sun) and a specialty coffee and tea program. In the evening, the chameleon-like space transforms into a private event venue for fine dining dinners, fundraisers, and special occasion celebrations.

For those looking for a delightful breakfast and lunch experience where eggs take center stage and local flavors come together, I Egg You is the perfect destination.

To celebrate the Grand Opening of our new location in Capitol Hill, there will be a SPECIAL GIVEAWAY! The FIRST 50 GUESTS on both Saturday and Sunday will be treated to a FREE coffee! And that’s not all – on your next visit, I Egg You will provide a complimentary mouth-watering sandwich! Be sure to be there when doors open November 18th!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
