“Dear PoPville,
I wrote a lot below so the TL;DR is the coffee date predator is still out there in the Dupont/Logan Circle area, giving the same spiel about being new to the area from NYC, giving a compliment, and asking to get coffee sometime. I’ve encountered him twice, almost 2 years apart.
I know you’ve posted about this guy quite a few times but I wanted to let the community know that the coffee date predator “from NYC and new to the area” is still at large and on the hunt for seemingly his next victim.
I first encountered him almost exactly 2 years ago, May 2022. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Do you have any information on why roads all around Adams Morgan near Kalorama Triangle are restricted for parking?
It’s typical for small stretches of parking to be restricted for several days or longer, but for the past several weeks, large areas of most streets all over my neighborhood (Kalorama/Columbia/Belmont and surrounding roads) have been blocked. Here are some photos as well as a map of the neighborhood with areas that have been blocked off over the past ~2 weeks on and off marked in red. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I wanted to ask for advice from longterm DMV residents who might know a thing or two about waging a war against both rats and corporate landlords. I live in an apartment building that has an ongoing rat infestation; our community message board is blowing up with posts from tenants on every floor (in a ten-story building!) talking about dealing with rats in their apartments and in community spaces. We’ve had posts about rats scratching in the walls at night, chewing holes through the walls, being sighted in apartments and common spaces like the laundry room, gym, and elevators, coming up through sinks and chewing through rubber gaskets (!), even posts about rats getting stuck in the AC units, dying, and then rotting. Our management’s response has been tepid at best. Back in May, (more…)
