“Coffee date predator sighting in Dupont”

“Dear PoPville,

I was approached by a man Sunday morning when crossing the street in Dupont. No one else was around. He ‘helped’ me across the street and asked if there was a coffee shop in the Washington Hilton.

I live close by the Hilton and occasionally get asked for local coffee or restaurant recommendations so I didn’t think anything of it.

The man then said he just moved here from New York and I immediately recognized the same behavior reported on PoPville – ‘helping’ cross the street, asking about a coffee shop, and saying he just moved here from New York. He also fit the physical description.

I quickly ended the conversation by saying NO – I actually don’t know of any coffee in the area, and I quickly walked away. He walked in the other direction.

I recognized this predator because of other women reporting it to PoPville. I hope other women can continue to recognize him and not be his victim.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
