For more than 20 years, Jazz in the Garden has turned the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden into a stage, allowing visitors to cool down by the fountain and enjoy refreshments while taking in the sounds of acclaimed musicians amidst our renowned collection of outdoor sculpture. This year, the garden will come alive with free musical performances including jazz, Latin fusion, R&B, and more, every Friday from May 23 through July 11 (except for July 4).

On Saturday, April 12th around 6:45pm, I jumped on an electric CaBi in Bloomingdale to try to make it downtown for an event at 7pm. It started to lightly rain, no surprise for the spring weather we’ve been having. In a split second, I decided to dock the bike at the R & 8th Shaw-Howard metro station and take the Green line the rest of the way.

“The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a special police officer for assaulting a fellow employee with a gun at a grocery store in Northwest.
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at approximately 12:35 p.m., the suspect and the victim were both working at a grocery store in the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest.
