Readers reported: “Just heard what sounded like 6-7 gunshots, a pause, and then 6-7 more in response.”
Update from MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, April 13, 2020, in the 700 block of Longfellow Street, Northwest.
At approximately 11:20 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Clarence Skrine, of Northwest, DC.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

NS reported: “Saw a huge flash followed immediately by a huge boom that shook me on my couch. At 14 & Irving facing the alley way.”

With all of the free time recently, I’d like to start looking at studio rental properties (just online, not touring in person), but I think I’m still too far away to have anyone thinking about August rentals. My question is – has anyone found a sweet spot in terms of when to start looking for DC rental units – one month before move-in? Two months? Or less, like one or two weeks before?”
