COVID-19 DC Fray Update “I guess dc fray isn’t refunding people either?”

Ed. Note: TLDR: DC Fray “will credit your account with the full amount of your season registration with player credits.”

Thanks to all who forwarded the following email from DC Fray:

“Dear Fray family,

As we learn to navigate the new normal together, we wanted to thank you for your support and gratitude. We are humbled by the many positive emails, messages and outreach we have received from our community. We know that along with our staff and their families, each of you is navigating a new reality too. We want to send our very best to each and every one of you adjusting to the changes over the last three weeks.

As one of the millions of small businesses across that country that has had to make very tough decisions, it has been you, our community, and our mission to make fun possible that has kept us grounded and motivated through these challenging times.

At the onset of this challenge we shared our intent with you to resume play as soon as it was safe to do so. With the extension of local closures into May and early June, it is clear that league and live event operations will not be able to resume as soon as we had hoped.

Through these challenging weeks, we’ve learned just how much the Fray community means and how important it is for each of us to have the joy of community in our lives. We remain committed to delivering on that mission through our live social sport leagues and events when circumstances allow us to do so safely.

In the interim, the Fray team is moving quickly to find ways to stay connected and to provide value to our community in this new world of social distancing.
We have rolled out fun shared experiences through our virtual community offerings including online bingo, trivia (just ask us about Tiger King!) and virtual speed dating, with other exciting programming in the works. We have also brought you inspiring stories of positivity from the community through our media channels, including District Fray, our D.C.-based print and digital magazine.

We are proud of the connections our community has helped build digitally during this unprecedented world event, and we have a plan in place to support our winter and spring league players impacted by the closures.
Leagues In Play

For those who were actively playing in a league that did not finish in full, we are processing a player credit to your account over the next few days with the prorated amount of your season registration.
Leagues Yet to Begin

For those who signed up to play in leagues scheduled to start from mid-March through May and are unable to begin due to Covid-19 closures, we will credit your account with the full amount of your season registration with player credits.

Player credits from these closures will never expire and can be used for a variety of offerings including:

current and future virtual offerings like digital bingo, trivia, our book club and other fun programming coming soon
future social sport league seasons and tournaments
future live events like Field Day, bar crawls, speed dating, river tubing and more
entering to win our classic Land Rover raffle supporting furloughed staff, other small businesses and front line medical workers.

Please note, your credits are also able to be gifted and transferred to others including friends, family and coworkers. If you’re moving to another location, we have collaborated with other social sports clubs across the country to honor your credits so you can use them after your move. Reach out to us if this applies to you.
Additional Value

To help build a healthy community and provide additional opportunities to connect, in addition to Fray credits, all current registered players are also being gifted:

A three-month print and digital membership to DistrictFray.com and
A complimentary membership to Balance Gym’s virtual training and community for the month of May

To redeem your DistrictFray.com membership, complete your registration here. Keep an eye out for an email with details for the Balance Gym virtual membership in the coming days.
The Future // Summer Leagues Coming In Hot

It is our hope that our current efforts will allow us to gather again to play this summer. We are committed to our return as various facility partners open back up. We will continue to communicate any changes as they happen.

With positivity and optimism, we will be opening all summer league registrations. You can use your player credits to register for the league of your choice or use your credit for future seasons.

We are committed to you, our mission and the community.

Thank you for your support, positivity, courage, gratitude, innovation and community during these evolving events.

The Fray Team”
