Dear PoPville

“Dear PoPville,

I’m reaching out to let you know that the IATSE part of IMP (Box office and production staff) are still seeking the same pathway towards union recognition IMP gave to door staff, bartenders, hospitality, and kitchen staff.

We are still seeking the same path towards recognition. We are hoping that the public could show their support for us by emailing [email protected] to voice their support for box office and production staff.”

Cleveland Park

3515 Connecticut Ave, NW opened here in 2017 before that the space was home to Yogiberry and I believe this was the bagel place back in the day.

Thanks to Paige for sending word about the European Wax Center closing in the once vibrant Sam’s Park and Shop. Though the parking lot still flourishes! Well not for everyone

Anyway, maybe Wonder will save the day…

Restaurants

14th and W Street, NW previously home to Kapnos/G by Mike Isabella

Ed. Note: For a hot second Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar was supposed to come here but then that pesky pandemic hit.

Thanks to Kaitlyn for sending:

“Noticed multiple days last week there were crews doing demo work inside. Nothing posted about what’s to come but hopeful that something will occupy this prime retail.”

Anyone hear any rumors? Stay tuned.

Dear PoPville

Ed. Note: If you happen to stumble across this earring please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.

“Dear PoPville,

Long shot, I know, but I’m looking for help finding a distinctive and sentimental earring I lost yesterday.

Probably obvious, but the lost earring is a match to the one in the photo. The earrings were handmade by a metalsmith friend, who gifted them to me for my doctoral graduation a number of years ago.

It’s possible the missing earring fell out somewhere in Capitol Hill — 11th St NE between H and Lincoln Park, 12th St SE, S Carolina SE, Peregrine, Eastern Market metro. I was later on an Ashburn-bound Silver train around 10:00a and at several places on the GW campus before I realized the earring was missing. (more…)
