“Hatoba, the Sapporo-style ramen shop in Navy Yard, is expanding its menu to include Hawaiian-inspired favorites, classics and updates.
The Daikaya Group, long known for its exacting dedication to Japanese cuisine and sensibility, takes a cue from chef Katsuya Fukushima’s family connections to Hawaii to bring new dishes and island energy to the restaurant which already means “dock” in Japanese.

The curated slate of tonkotsu ramens will remain, and will make room for a range of unexpected and modern takes on the 50th state’s food scene. Hatoba’s Hawaiian side highlights the many cultures contributing to the islands’ cuisine–Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Fillipino, Spanish, Portugese and its native population–while also blending modern American-mainland touches.

Some fellow new moms and I are looking for recommendations for a Mamas’ Night Out (very much WITHOUT the babies!) Someplace that ideally has a decent amount of space, indoors and out, and obviously tasty cocktails and bites? We aren’t 100% sure how many of the moms are actually going to be able to make it (likely around 5 people maybe?) so someplace that you don’t necessarily need a reservation on a Friday night to be able to get a spot at the bar or a table would be awesome as well…”

I have noticed him around a lot more now after an interaction I had with him last week. (more…)

We will not tolerate the reckless actions of any individual that puts our community in jeopardy.”
Sources say yes! To the former Starbucks location, which closed in September 2020 and was previously home to Cafe Paradiso. I’m hearing that a Dim Sum restaurant with roots in Tysons is coming. I give this a 91% accuracy rating. STAY TUNED.
