“Dear PoPville,
My pup seems to have torn her CCL, and has been limping on and off for the last 2 weeks. She is a 90 pound german shepherd mix – not overweight, but a big girl. The vet recommended we reduce her weight by a few pounds, and said surgery is the only option for treatment. I would love to hear from PoPville community if anyone else has had to deal with similar issues lately. I have a few questions: (more…)

Kristin passes on the GoFundMe:
“Hello Everyone, My name is Keturah i’m a 24 year old college student at FAMU. I am writing this fundraiser campaign for my mother and her furry bestfriend without her knowing. My mother is a proud, independent woman and would never ask for money, she has been working since the age of 13 and with Covid-19 this is the first time she has been unemployed in over 15 years, but through the grace of god she always figures it out but this time she needs help. From GoFundMe:
“I adopted Phineas from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington in March of 2020 during COVID. I had an appointment on Tuesday, 11/17 @ 8:30 am at Atlas Vet for him to get bloodwork done, as he was supposed to have teeth pulled/cleaned on 11/30. As we arrived, I called to check in and picked up the carrier to put him on my lap. I looked into the carrier to see him rolling over with his eyes completely open and he was non-responsive. I started screaming and the amazing vets ran out and sprinted inside with him. They did CPR and intubated and were thankfully able to bring him back. Once he was brought back, he was acting very strange neurologically. (more…)

Last week we happily learned that Bruno was home. I promised to share more details as I learned them – and here’s word from Bruno’s humans:
“We want to say thank the PoPville community for helping us find our Bruno. It was actually your help that brought us together. A nice family who we appreciate took care of Bruno until someone came along and saw the post from PoPville. Your help made our 2020 much better.”
Ed. Note: You guys rule, the reunion happened because of you, the community.

“Dear PoPville,
Do you know a good resource for finding a tastefully furnished apartment suitable for a busy professional? Dogs need to be okay. A weight limit is fine, the little one is only 16lbs. Mostly interested in AdMo, Mt. Pleasant, Shaw, Petworth, Columbia Heights.
Any quick tips would be hugely appreciated!”

UPDATE: Home found!
“Dear PoPville,
I have a fat, healthy, about 8-inch-long orange and white Koi that has outgrown my outdoor pond. I’m not sure how old he/she is but he/she was about 3 inches long when I bought him/her and I’ve had him/her for about 3 years now. He/she is not aggressive at all, he/she has lots of smaller comet goldfish buddies that he/she gets along fine with. (more…)

Thanks to IHeartDC for the update on stolen pup, Bruno:
“Good news! Bruno is home. I’ve been in touch with one of the owners since the beginning (her discarded purse was found in my neighborhood the day after the car was stolen), and she texted last night to tell me Bruno had been found. I don’t have the details, but I was so relieved and figured others would be too.”
Ed. Note: Will try to update with more details when/if I get them!
