“Is someone missing a guinea hen? This little lady is walking around Quincy and 13th Streets NW. We couldn’t catch her. She flew into a fenced backyard. She is surely someone’s!”

“A new thing I’ve noticed people doing is trying to exit Grant Circle at New Hampshire from the inner lane. This results in a vehicle in the outer lane that’s planning to exit at 5th being cut off. Aren’t you supposed to be in an outer lane when you’re planning to exit a traffic circle? Isn’t this equivalent to making a right turn from the left lane (something many DMV drivers think is legal and do anyway)?
This has happened to me a couple of times, and I witnessed it happening to someone else this morning. The vehicle exiting the circle at NH had its signal on, yet it still cut off a vehicle in the outer lane that was planning to continue in that lane. The vehicle in the outer lane got cut off and had to slam on its brakes. The driver of the exiting vehicle was clearly annoyed because he/she paused for a moment, even though he/she was in the wrong.
A collision waiting to happen.”

WTF Now?!: A Series with Todd Kliman
“Mon, December 12, 2016
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
$10 tickets
So many of us are hungering to understand what happens now in the wake of Trump’s election — what does it mean and how are our lives going to change?
It was out of this confusion and fear that WTF Now? was born.
Over a period of weeks, moderator Todd Kliman and a wide array of distinguished thinkers will try to contextualize the Trump phenomenon in American and world history, and to examine the social, cultural, economic, philosophical, political, ethical, moral, and linguistic ramifications and implications of a Trump presidency.
The conversation will take place in a performance space called Third Floor, in DC’s Petworth neighborhood, and will feature three or four panelists each week in a format that mixes the town halls of today with the salons of yore. The talk will be loose, lively, exploratory.
The first WTF Now will take place on December 12th at 7 p.m, with: (more…)
“Dear PoPville,
Here is yet another in the string of package thieves caught on tape…we live on Delafield between Arkansas and Georgia. This gentleman just laid down on our porch and took two Amazon packages (as well as Shutterfly Christmas cards) that were delivered about an hour prior. The police believe he has been following UPS trucks and then circling back shortly after delivery to steal the packages–which is exactly what happened to us.”
