The photos capture a one second duration of a complex 15-plus minute long choreography of harassment between the hawks and a murder of more than 10 crows.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

It looks like a new indoor plant store will be opening in Pleasant Plains on the corner of Euclid and Sherman. This space was previously City Corner Market. Signage for Cap and Stem went up this week and they seem to be making good progress on the interior, however, I wasn’t able to tune into on an opening date.

As an update, I walked past the store front again this morning and I think they may actually sell mushrooms? Not entirely clear…”

“Dear PoPville,

I walked out of our row house yesterday in Kingman Park and found this huge rack of keys in the grass beside our driveway. The keys being there in the first place is somewhat strange because it would require someone walking about 10-15 feet into my yard and I haven’t had anyone over recently and the water meter is in the front of the house. “Metro Transit Police in coordination with U.S. Capitol Police will conduct a full-scale law enforcement exercise on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Capitol South Station. The exercise will simulate a real-life security threat to test operational coordination, communications, and response between law enforcement agencies.

During this time, the Capitol South Station will be closed from opening until approximately 2 p.m. Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Eastern Market and Federal Center SW. (more…)
