From a press release:

“Tiffany MacIsaac, Pastry Chef/Owner of Buttercream Bakeshop, is pleased to announce the opening of her first storefront, located at 1250 9th Street, NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC.

The bakery is a culmination of a yearlong quest by the award-winning pastry chef to find the perfect flagship location for Buttercream Bakeshop. During that time, MacIsaac has been busy creating exquisite, custom wedding cakes and special occasion sweets that have been available since August 2014 by delivery and at select pop-up events in the DC metro area.

Mornings at Buttercream Bakeshop will bring an array of signature breakfast items, such as the Buttercream Breakfast Bun, scrambled eggs with sharp cheddar and breakfast sausage rolled in milk bread, Buttercream Bakeshop’s take on a breakfast sandwich. The shop will also feature an array of Flakies, rich and buttery round croissant-style pastry in classic (rolled in sugar) or with seasonal fillings, such as passion fruit, chocolate, almond, and Nutella. Buttercream Bakeshop’s Cinnascone is expected to be a crowd-pleaser; the buttermilk scone dough is treated like a cinnamon roll, filled with a mixture of butter, sugar and cinnamon, and topped with a cinnamon sugar glaze.

A strong, carefully sourced coffee program by Compass Coffee and stellar sweets will be available to enjoy within the intimate 12-seat space or to-go throughout the day. New treats that are debuting include Nutella HoHos, Funfetti Cookie Cream Pies, and Cookie Dough Brownie Bars. The cake program will receive extra attention, featuring designs for every event, from a simple birthday celebration to an elaborate wedding.

In addition to the baked goods and coffee offerings, guests of the new Buttercream Bakeshop will be able to shop special occasion greeting cards, cake toppers, floral arrangements and custom iced sugar cookies, in what MacIsaac hopes will become a one-stop-shop for all things celebratory.

Buttercream Bakeshop is located on the street level of The Colonel, a new apartment community located in the heart of the revitalized Shaw neighborhood. Buttercream Bakeshop is open Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shortly after opening, MacIsaac will use her shop to host after hours baking classes for all ages and skill levels.”
