A reader reports:

Buffalo Wild Wings‘ Navy Yard is opening November 16, but the construction is now gone and they are just training staff. Beyond Leo’s pizza and wings, it’s the only food option between the half street navy yard metro exit and our home, so we’re super excited. Big Stick is practically across the street, but it’ll be nice not to backtrack to get home. Doesn’t look like they will have space for outdoor seating though, which is a bummer.”

“Writing to report a found dog near Nationals Park in SE DC. He is a small terrier mix, collar and flea collar but no tags and no microchip. Lucky for this little guy, Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL) (www.warl.org) was running an adoptions event in the area and the nice people who found him brought him to the adoptions event. He is currently at the WARL shelter-202-726-2556.”

From MPD:

“Last night at approximately 9:20pm, a citizen was approached by a lone assailant and robbed of his property at gunpoint in the 900 block of NJ Ave SE.

An off duty MPD officer observed the offense and immediately summoned assistance. Within 30 seconds a plainclothes detective was on the scene and observed the suspect retrieving from the area. The victim of the robbery then suddenly re-appeared and tackled the suspect.

The detective along with other MPD members intervened and placed the suspect under arrest. All property belonging to the victim along with an imitation pistol were recovered.

As with all arrests, we are reviewing this case to ascertain any correlation to other similar offenses.”
