The post about Cafe Pirqa popping up at Peregrine reminded me that I forgot to post a quick update about The Meatball Shop coming to the former Cork space on 14th. The placard says:

“New Restaurant serving a seasonally-focused menu, five types of meatballs, selection of sauces, veggie sides and handmade ice cream sandwiches. Live Entertainment will be provided only for special events. Total Occupancy Load of 80 with seating for 74. Sidewalk Café with 8 seats.”

“Dear PoPville,

This happened on April 2 and I am just getting around to filling out the contesting forms online. I was parked on Johnson Ave around 9:30AM and received a street cleaning violation ticket. There was NO sign posted. [It looks like maybe the sign they used is from the complete other end of the block, but still. It’s not visible at all from where I parked.] VS. the photo of the sign that they included in my ticket (you can look on the TicPix service) is clearly from a different location and does not include my car in it. The photos they took that included my car had the (empty) sign post cropped out.”

“It has been a long winter and we are breaking the ice and declaring it officially alfresco dining season with a Patio Opening Fête on 4/14 (Saturday). Our glace cart will be out for the first time this season debuting new flavors of French-style ice cream made by pastry chef Fabrice Bendano.

Glace Cart: Friday from 4pm to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 9pm.
