“Dear PoPville,
Passing along video/screenshot of thief stealing two packages from my front porch in Logan Circle yesterday. From the looks of his bag (and the other packages in it), he had been visiting several other porches, as well.
Hoping you might consider posting the photo and general location in order to put others on notice/to be aware.”
From MPD:
“Shooting at 2335 hrs in the 1400 block of R Street, NW. Lookout for a B/M, 5’10, heavyset, wearing a black shirt.
The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of R Street NW. An adult female has been transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
A reader reports:
“There was a block party that went on all day on R St. The street had been closed to allow for this.
Around 11:50 PM, we hear approx 10 rounds of gun shots fired. It was very loud. We looked over the balcony of our roof top and saw the Red Light Bar immediately clear out (corner of 14th and R St). There must have been 40 people on their outside patio — it was packed as it was a nice night. Everyone went running for cover.
Within 1 minute, another round of gun shots went off — even before I could call 911. This time with approx 6 shots being fired. (more…)

“Stabbing in the 1400 Block of Rhode Island Avenue, NW. Lookout for Suspect’s is a group of B/M’s, 5’5- to 5’8 in height, facial hair, blue jeans, gucci hat and last seen W/B of 1400 Rhode Island Avenue, NW.”
14th and Q St, NW
“Dear PoPville,
I witnessed a theft/robbery near Le Diplomate (14th and Q NW) this afternoon [Wednesday] at about 4:45. A young man broke the window of a construction van, grabbed the spare keys out of a backpack inside, and attempted to drive off with the van. One of the van’s owners ran up as this was happening and the would-be-carjacker jumped out of the van and ran north on the alley behind Le Diplomate (parallel to 14th).
The thief stole the van owner’s black leather backpack, which contained both his old and new passport, which he had just picked up today in preparation for a trip he is taking on Friday morning, as well as his business checkbook and important business notes and documents.

The liquor license placard for El Sol says:
“Request to expand premises to the second floor, adding 32 additional seats. Total Occupancy Load of the premises will increase from 30 to 62.”
El Sol opened in the former El Sauce space back in 2015. For a hot second the upstairs was slated to be home to Phonation.
