The long vacant space next to and featuring ads for Metro Wine and Spirits is set to become a Forever Yogurt frozen yogurt spot. Washington Business Journal notes:
“The chain makes more than 85 flavors of yogurt, including Jolly Rancher pomegranate raspberry, Greek froyo, and blueberry burst. The company has rolled out an espresso bar in some locations to provide more business year round, and that concept could appear in D.C., according to the spokesman.”
The only specific address announced is in Adams Morgan on Columbia Road. Forever Yogurt’s website lists other coming soon locations without specific addresses for Georgetown, Connecticut Ave (Dupont Circle), Verizon Center, and U Street (seeking space.)
Any Chicago expats fans of Forever Yogurt?

DGS does Passover and Cedar does Easter. From a press release:
In addition to the restaurant’s regular brunch menu Cedar’s Chef Aaron McCloud will prepare a three-course prix fixe brunch menu for Easter weekend. The $40 per person menu will be served on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. It includes a first course warm English pea cream soup or a shellfish stew of mussels, oysters and lobster and three main course selections: house-made rabbit sausage and eggs, roasted lamb from Maryland’s Martin’s Farm or a spring vegetable tart. Chef McCloud’s version of a key lime pie and a peanut butter cup complete the courses.

A few folks have written and tweeted asking who is moving into the former Potbelly space at 726 7th St, NW in Chinatown. This will be the Lime Fresh Mexican Grill we heard about in Sept. 2012. They should be open “mid-2013”. You can see their menu here. We judged the Lime Fresh Columbia Heights location here.

Catherine notes:
“Dangerously Delicious Pies looks like they’ve made good progress at their I Street NW location near the intersection of I St and 7th St NW. It’s going to be awesome. I can’t wait!”

901 7th Street, NW – actually located on I St just east of 7th

In Jan. we learned that condo sales had begun at CityCenterDC. CityCenterDC’s boundaries are New York Avenue NW, 9th Street NW, H Street NW, and 11th Street NW. Last week I took a tour of a model unit and got to see this unbelievably cool 3-D model of the development by LIDCM Corporation. I think I have underestimated how transformative this development is gonna be. To say I was blown away is an understatement. I can’t wait until we get confirmation on the retail and restaurants (“With over 295,000 sq ft of retail space, CityCenterDC will feature nearly 60 stores, restaurants and cafes”) but in the meantime – check out some more photos of the model:

From the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s blog Eye Level:
If you visit our museum within the next year, you will be greeted on the left side of the 8th and G-street entrance by Tableau Noir (The Blackboard), done in 1970. It is on loan to the Smithsonian American Art Museum from a private collection.

The Post’s Tom Sietsema tweets:
“Finally! @Daikayadc opens V-Day, “just for ramen on the first floor” says Daisuke Utagawa, the owner with @chefkatsuya”
You can see what Daikaya looked like here back in May 2012.
Get ready for some “authentic ramen bowls amongst other Asian-influenced dishes.”
Daikaya’s facebook page says 5pm Feb. 14th:
“walk-ins only for ramen, no reservations – our izakaya upstairs will take reservations when it opens but that won’t be for a while”
