1728 Columbia Rd, NW

The long vacant space next to and featuring ads for Metro Wine and Spirits is set to become a Forever Yogurt frozen yogurt spot. Washington Business Journal notes:

“The chain makes more than 85 flavors of yogurt, including Jolly Rancher pomegranate raspberry, Greek froyo, and blueberry burst. The company has rolled out an espresso bar in some locations to provide more business year round, and that concept could appear in D.C., according to the spokesman.”

The only specific address announced is in Adams Morgan on Columbia Road. Forever Yogurt’s website lists other coming soon locations without specific addresses for Georgetown, Connecticut Ave (Dupont Circle), Verizon Center, and U Street (seeking space.)

Any Chicago expats fans of Forever Yogurt?

Yes! I’m from Chicago and I love Forever Yogurt. Their yogurt is solid and lots of toppings selections – many more than others in DC. But the shining star is their hot chocolate bar. Frozen yogurt is of course only good for so much of the year in Chicago, so they added to hot chocolate bar to keep up business. It was definitely a success. They have all sorts of different syrups and marshmallows, etc. that you can add a la carte as you would at a frozen yogurt place.

    The forgurt is also cursed.

    • +1. The toppings contain potassium benzoate.

  • This seems like a good addition to the 1700 block of Columbia Road NW, which has lagged behind nearby blocks in terms of getting good retail/food options.

  • This reminds me @ the Fro-Yo in Columbia Heights at the DCUSA mall that has been closed forever. Anyone know when it will be replaced with something better…. and with something that will actually stay open?

I like the name Forever Yogurt… reminding us that this trend will never die.
