“Cielo Rojo is now open now at 7056 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park. This new family-owned, fine-casual Mexican restaurant serves traditional cuisine including tacos, enchiladas, pozole, gorditas, carnitas, salsas, moles and more. From The Hill: “The Senate is expected to take up a three-week stopgap bill to end the partial government shutdown later Friday after President Trump agreed to end the shutdown.”

“Carmine’s Family Style Italian Restaurant will offer a complementary family supper for furloughed Federal Government workers and their families at its DC Penn Quarter location on Sunday, January 27. There will be two seatings at 1 and 1:30 pm served family-style. (menu below)

Marvin opened up back in 2007 (with a $15 burger, what?!?!?). I believe this is the first time I’ve ever seen a sign there. Sign of the times for sure. Looks like the Gibson is still holding strong sign-less next door.

Ed. Note: I think The Gibson is one of the best “hidden” gems in D.C. Still.

Last month we posted that there was a “Rare opportunity to obtain a built out restaurant that grosses $1.5m year after year maintaining a consistent presence and menu.” in Logan Circle. Multiple readers report that it is likely Masa 14. Most recently:

“A bartender told me it is indeed Masa. Sale was supposed to be completed last week.”
