“The Stacks, Buzzard Point’s newest waterfront neighborhood, announced that Café Unido, the acclaimed Panama-based specialty coffee brand, will open its third Washington, D.C. location. Building on the success of its locations in Shaw and Union Market, Café Unido will bring a café to a 730-square-foot space along The Corso, The Stacks’ pedestrian-only retail promenade. Located on the ground floor of Colette, one of The Stacks’ three residential buildings, the café will also connect to Colette’s expansive lobby, offering guests access to an additional 1,100-square-foot space with ample seating and gathering areas.

Something is going on here. Yesterday I broke the news that Trio was closing soon in Dupont Circle after 75 years based on an announcement from the General Manager, saying they’d be closing after having one last hurrah November 2nd. Since then WTOP and Washington Business Journal have both since posted the same with no new details. HOWEVER, something is fishy to me. I went to check Trio’s IG to see if they have made an official announcement on their Instagram and this is what comes up for today: (more…)
