Thanks to a reader for sending this morning.

Le Mont Royal closed after three years in Adams Morgan back on January 4th, 2026. Le Mont Royal, “a French-Canadian Disco”, opened here on January 6, 2023.

This space was previously home Southern Hospitality and before them the longtime home of  Adams Mill Bar and Grill.

Hopefully the space won’t stay vacant for too long…

From a press release:

“The Institute for Primary Facts (IPF) today announced that The Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room is officially moving to the nation’s capital in time for President Trump’s birthday.

Running between June 9-12, 2026, the first-of-its kind physical library will take over a space twice as large as the original New York location in D.C.’s Chinatown neighborhood near the White House and Department of Justice (DOJ). The installation will house all 3.5 million pages of unsealed court records and investigative files released by the DOJ, printed and bound into more than 3,400 individual volumes weighing more than 17,000 pounds.

The D.C. Reading Room is the next stop on what the organizers hope will become a national tour following the New York Reading Room’s viral success. Nearly 10,000 New Yorkers walked through 3,437 volumes of the Epstein files during the exhibit’s two-week run. The installation has been seen by over 85 million people online. The momentum ahead of the D.C. launch also follows a historic, uninterrupted 24-hour filibuster where advocates, citizens, and 11 survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes took turns reading the unsealed files aloud. From a press release:

“When did the happy hour cocktail casually become $12. Then $14. Then $16. Gone are the days of the $5 cocktail and an affordable night out on the town. In this economy? Please. These days, it seems happy hours have lost their charm and going out comes at the casual cost of a mortgage – and Goodbar has decided they’re doing something about it by launching a Micro Happy Hour series across their restaurants. Short windows. Insane prices. Great food & drink. Even better vibes. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Goodbar Group has watched this city change over two decades, watched their neighborhoods shift, and watched the people who make D.C. what it is get priced out of what used to make it fun. And they’re done watching. “We’ve been through a lot together – the city, our regulars, our staff. There are ebbs and flows. Right now people are stretched thin and we have the ability to do something real about it, even if it’s just for a couple hours a day. So we are. Come in. Let us take care of you for a minute.” — Jackie, Co-owner.

Here’s what to expect at participating restaurants: (more…)
