Just wanted to let you know that Slutty Vegan appears to be close to opening on the 500 block of H Street Northeast. In 2023 it was announced, but on the 1200 block! The current space was formerly an I-71 shop that was shut down in 2024. One of a few cool new spots opening on H street.” (more…)

“Fruitive is opening an expanded Penn Quarter location on Wednesday, February 18 at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The new 2,500-square-foot space will feature the brand’s signature cold-pressed juices, smoothies, vegan waffles, and acai bowls — including a specialty Bolivian-sourced variety backed by a community-led fair-trade model. To celebrate opening day, all guests will receive complimentary Avocado Toast and a Ginger Immunity Shot (while supplies last).”

It looks like Planta Cocina on 14th and P seems to be closed. I walked by on my way to Whole Foods the other day, noticed it was dark, and thought, oh, maybe it’s the one day they’re closed. Walked by on the way to WF tonight and it was completely dark AGAIN. When I went to make a reservation for next Thursday, the option for Planta Cocina had been removed (but not for Planta Queen). Can you look into this and see what the deal is?”
