BIG news from the National Park Service:

“We’re projecting cherry blossom Peak Bloom to arrive between March 29 – April 1 this year.
Extraordinary warm or cool temperatures have resulted in Peak Bloom as early as March 15 (1990) and as late as April 18 (1958). 🌸🌸🌸

Peak Bloom is defined as the period of time when 70% of the Yoshino cherry blossoms -the most common variety- are open, creating gorgeous clouds of white & pink flowers floating around the Tidal Basin.”

Thanks to Ed for sending the little guy above from Truxton Circle.

Now I get the science behind it all but we went from zero bunnies to approximately 5 million bunnies in about two weeks this year…

If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted them to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

“Dear PoPville,

We are excited to announce the return of Juneberry Garage‘s lovely patio bar on the old Walter Reed campus on Thursday, March 27th. While our interior space is still under construction, that’s not going to stop us from soaking in some sun and enjoying some cold drinks in the meantime. We’ll also be hosting some great food vendors with a different cuisine every day (pizza, Mexican, BBQ, Burgers and more). (more…)
