My husband and I were sitting at the bar [Friday] at 6:30 pm at Shaw’s Tavern having a drink when a man bumped into me and ordered a drink.

Seconds later my purse that was on chair under my jacket fell to the floor and I had a bad feeling immediately. I quickly picked up my purse and checked it to find that my wallet was missing. (more…)

I was on a run late yesterday afternoon and encountered a large fox on Massachusetts Ave (near the corner of Mass Ave and Belmont Rd). When it saw me, it ran into the bushes, making me think I was in the clear. However, when I turned around the fox was running pretty close behind me. (more…)

“January 3, 2023 – March 3, 2023

Trees and greenery are typically collected by DPW crews within five days of set out. After March 3, composting is not guaranteed for trees and greenery because they are then collected with residential trash. Using the tree and greenery collection service during this eight-week period will reduce the amount of such materials in landfills.

I want everyone to be aware of a really, really scary scam that’s going around that I fell victim to yesterday.

I got a call yesterday afternoon from my Dad (his caller ID and photo on my phone came up the same way it always does). When I answered I heard his voice and he was in distress and sounded like he was being beaten up. (more…)

“Tonight, Mayor Muriel Bowser will deploy the District Snow Team starting at 7:00 p.m. to spread brine on bridges, overpasses, National Highway System routes, and roadways with elevated surfaces ahead of possible freezing rain predicted by the National Weather Service to begin Wednesday evening around midnight through 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Today (Saturday) I was driving on route 50 into dc when this older man in a beat up white suv signaled at my tire indicating something was wrong.
