Update from Chang Chang owner Lydia Chang: “I have personally contacted both Tock and the guest to expedite the return of the deposit, as well as offered the guest a gift card to make up for their frustrating experience.”
“Dear PoPville,
I made a reservation at Chang Chang for six through Tock, which charged me $25/person plus a $5.00 fee. The email confirmation said my deposit would be refunded upon arrival at the restaurant. That didn’t happen, even though my entire party showed up on time and ordered a feast of quite tasty food and drinks.
When the bill came and no credit was reflected there, I asked to speak to a manager. He told me that
Chang Chang doesn’t charge for reservations and that I needed to contact Tock. Uh, no. I pulled up my credit card app to show proof I was charged. I told him that he needed to contact Tock and take care of this. He eventually took my contact information, but I never heard back. I’ve also emailed Chang Chang several times, but they haven’t responded either, so now I’m disputing it with my credit card company.”
