“Dear PoPville,
My partner’s birthday is coming up and wanted to take the day off and go out to lunch somewhere special. Your recent posting about Quattro Osteria seemed great until I saw it’s just dinner. Amazing, unique, fancy lunch places are tough… especially ones with tasting menus. Do readers have any good suggestions…preferably with outdoor seating?“

“Dear PoPville,
One of the best local lunch spots has reopened downtown for the first time since the pandemic hit! TBSP (The Best Sandwich Place) at 1776 I St NW is back again serving up some of the best sandwiches and salads in the area (yes, I’m biased based on the proximity to my office). Hopefully they get a lot of love from the downtown lunch crowd – so thrilled they survived the pandemic. Current hours are 8:00am-3:30pm.”

On Friday January 31st, 2020 we shared the scuttlebutt that shook (some of) our worlds. And so concludes the magnificent roller coaster ride of when will Taco Bell Cantina open in Columbia Heights. We got our first report at 10:58am from C., “columbia heights taco bell is open, my roommate was just inside the actual restaurant.” Thanks to Tenzin and everyone else for sending the good word. Tenzin notes: “alcoholic drinks are dine-in only!”
