“A new way to find your way

Metro is introducing a new Metro Rail wayfinding system designed to make traveling clearer and more consistent. It has been carefully designed to honor the legacy our region inherited 50 years ago.

The new system begins rolling out with the first signs installed at L’Enfant Plaza in September 2026. By the end of October, customers will see a fully restored station with updated signs and navigation information.

Metro plans to bring the new wayfinding system to five more stations over the next six months. (more…)

Dunkin’ coming to WMATA Headquarters in L’Enfant Plaza

“Metro has executed a 10-year lease agreement with Dunkin’ to open at Metro’s headquarters building, expanding the list of eateries around L’Enfant Plaza and adding value to the Southwest D.C. neighborhood.

The coffee chain will be located on D Street SW between 6th and 7th streets SW, near the existing Potbelly and D.C. Housing Authority spaces. The shop is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027. (more…)

Thanks to Joey for sending on Friday: “So DHS and National Park Service police are towing, fining, and closing almost all the food trucks at L’Enfant Plaza.”

Ed. Note: Others noted Food Trucks had been towed off the Mall back in May.
