Update from Rich over the weekend: “saw a bunch of equipment on the floor, bins of electronics for payment processing and part of the bar seemed missing.”

Ed. Note: Long time Logan Circle P Street hotspot, Commissary, closed up the block in July 2024. Logan Tavern’s website remains live as does their IG though their IG has not been updated since August 13th.

“Pekoe Wellness is closing after 16 years. Went there for acupuncture when no one businesses in DC were accessible or convenient to public transport. Big, big loss.

“Dear Friends of Pekoe,

After 16 years of serving Washington, DC, it’s with heavy hearts that we share this news: Pekoe Acupuncture & Wellness Center can no longer continue as a brick-and-mortar clinic.

The current administration, in addition to our recent failed land deal, along with collusion, corruption, and lender misconduct that we’ll share more about another day, has taken us out.

Despite every effort to pivot, the financial, physical, and spiritual toll has simply become unsustainable. (more…)

On Wednesday we shared the sad news about Shouk closing their remaining two stores.

This morning they sent out their farewell note:

1416 14th Street, NW

14th St Cafe Asian Bistro opened up here at 14th and P Street, NW back in 2015. Previously the space was the longtime home to Carry Out Deli which closed in January 2015.
