Only in DC – FOIA Bake Sale Sunday

From the Hill East Listserv and ANC Rep. Denise Krepp:

“Proceeds from the sale will be given to the Department of Justice to offset the costs associated with providing us with prosecution data for every ward in the city for the past five years.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is charging $40 an hour to find this information. Hopefully, they can find this information quickly. Too many crimes are occurring on Capitol Hill and only a small percentage of individuals involved in these crimes are being prosecuted. As residents of Capitol Hill, we deserve to know why this occurring.

“With Star Wars mania poised to sweep D.C. with the opening of The Force Awakens next Friday, a member of Washington National Cathedral’s staff will be visiting D.C. theatres, dressed as Darth Vader. Intimidating as this Lord Vader may be though, moviegoers may want to go over and meet him – this Vader will be passing out cards with a chance to win a private gargoyle tower climb at the Cathedral, featuring the building’s own stone carving of Darth Vader. Lead Bartender:

1) Minimum two years bar experience in a craft cocktail environment
2) Ability to work with and manage colleagues to anticipate guest’s needs
3) Basic understanding of spirits and cocktails
4) Must desire to learn more about restaurant operations and leadership
5) Must be available full time
6) Interest in literature is a plus”

Also interesting to note the “increasingly vegetable-forward menu”.
