From an email:

“Since opening Slash Run we have done two events with the Soldier’s Home – one at the Soldier’s Home for a happy hour and one at Slash as a fundraiser for them.

We loved doing both and it got us to thinking about how much more we should get involved and supportive of the community as a whole.

So, in 2016 we’re starting to have fundraiser nights at Slash Run for any non-profit, arts or theater organizations, food banks, etc. If people are interested in participating they can email me at [email protected]

Here are the details:
Sunday-Thursday evening/night
We promote/they promote
15% of Sales from that night go to the organization (they get the benefit of whatever sales we would have naturally done)
Pretty simple

We’ve done this up at Sidebar over the years and it has been great.

All night at the bar and after 7pm in the dining room. Must purchase a drink. Not available for take out.”

  • Does the “must purchase a drink” for the half price burgers apply to non-alc bevs as well? Us sober folks like half price burgers too!

I was wondering about that too.

Well, it didn’t specify alcohol, so I’m sure you can get it enforced on any drink for at least a little while.

The hours (only after 7 PM in the dining room) of the promotion exclude families with young children who have made Slash Run my favorite family-friendly restaurant in Petworth.

    • No Kids

I had the same thought–our kids attend the charter school across the street and we’d definitely make it a point to come on Mondays, but after 7 is too late for us and lots of other people with kids. Perhaps that is the point. If so, it’s too bad.

    • It probably has a lot more to do with enticing a market who isn’t already there, rather than rewarding one who is going to be there anyway.

Yeah, agreed that is probably the reason. The place is always packed with families whenever I’m there at kid-appropriate dinner times. I just think its funny – typically a restaurant has HH promotions before 7 PM to entice folks to come when they aren’t as crowded – with Slash Run, they have to do the opposite!
