“Dear PoPville,

After October 31st, WMATA will no longer subsidize private car services through the After-Hours Commuter Services Program by Lyft/Lyft Shared, following the addition of 14 new 24/7 bus routes last year. While the additional bus services might help some, unfortunately, this change will significantly impact service industry workers, who rely on the program for safe, reliable transportation between 12:00am and 4:00am. We are concerned with how and why this decision was made, as it puts workers at greater risk for late-night violence, particularly during the hours when crime is more common and we are trying to get home safely. “We’re rehabbing an old tourist kiosk and transforming it into a little pizza and wine gem surrounded by museums and monuments. Bar Americano is right in front of the Air & Space Museum and a quick stroll to the National Gallery, Hirschhorn, etc. So you can fuel up with a latte and pastry before going to an exhibit, or hang out with a glass of wine and a slice afterwards.
