DC Open House List for This Weekend: April 17, 2026

Spring (while feeling like summer) is in full bloom across the District, and with 430+ open houses happening citywide this weekend, there’s no better time to lace up your walking shoes and tour in person. Whether you’re hunting for your first condo or a forever home, the neighborhoods are looking their best. To see the full DC Open House list, click here. (more…)

renderings courtesy the Washington Commanders and HKS
From the Washington Commanders:
“The Washington Commanders and HKS unveiled a new set of conceptual renderings for their new world-class stadium in Washington, DC, submitted as part of the ongoing NCPC and CFA review process.
Following the initial renderings released in January, the latest visuals continue to build excitement and momentum around the project, showcasing the vision for a dynamic, year-round destination that blends into the urban fabric of the District and carries forward the city’s architectural legacy.
Designed in collaboration with HKS, the renderings provide the most comprehensive look at the evolving stadium concept, highlighting the exterior facade, expansive entry points and arrival experiences. Updated views of the surrounding plazas and public spaces reinforce the goal of creating a neighborhood gathering place and national stage capable of hosting community programming and large-scale events beyond game days.
As the process continues, the design will continue to evolve as stakeholder and community feedback is incorporated.”

I took the photo at the end of one of my walkabouts back in December but keep forgetting to share it and well now’s as good a time as any. Pretty cool though, if I do say so myself :)
If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted them to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

“Dear PoPville,
Neighbors and I have seen a few of these posters around DC. The cat doesn’t appear to be missing as there’s no contact info or any other information. There was a Reddit thread a couple days ago trying to get to the bottom of it but nobody seemed to know.”

At some point a lot of guys realize they don’t really have a friend group anymore.
Not in a dramatic way. Friends move away, people get busy, and actually seeing the same guys regularly almost never happens.
