Try this: The 10-Minute Worry Window
This isn’t about ignoring what’s bothering you. It’s about giving your mind permission to rest in between. Worry doesn’t disappear just because you name a time for it — but it does lose some of its grip.
If your worry window keeps spilling into everything else, that’s worth talking about too:
Small tools, practiced daily, add up. You’re allowed to worry. You’re also allowed to let it go.

“The PTO of Ida B. Wells Middle School and the PSCO of John Lewis Elementary School are reaching out as neighbors and fellow Ward 4 community members who care deeply about the Hernandez family.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, after dropping his child off at John Lewis Elementary School, our neighbor and friend was suddenly detained by federal agents on his way to work. He has been held at a detention center in Chantilly, Virginia for one week and has since been moved to a detention center in Texas. His wife has only been able to speak with him twice.
The family has called Petworth home for the past eight years. (more…)
