“Dear PoPville,
I was wondering if tenants have any rights to question/stop renovations of rental apartments during the stay at home order. I don’t know if we have any say, but when most tenants are working from home (and not allowed to use amenity spaces) during this time, it is incredibly disruptive to have the leasing agency for our building completely renovating unoccupied apartments. Is there anything we can do? They want us to keep paying rent but to do that we kind of need to keep our jobs…Are others experiencing this issue?”

Thanks to Jeff for sending the new window signage at old Palena space in Cleveland Park. Back in January we reported that School of Rock would be coming here:
“For over a decade, School of Rock has taught guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys through an innovative performance-based method. Students are put through a series of private lessons and group rehearsals and then get to show off what they learn on real rock stages to real rock audiences.”

“Dear PoPville,
I recently bought my first condo in Adams Morgan and have unfortunately found out that my upstairs neighbor has some of the creakiest floors I’ve ever heard. It actually sounds like the crack of a whip and it’s right above the bedroom. I moved in only a month ago and have been woken up pretty much every night at between 12am-2am. I’m a really heavy sleeper, too. I’m just now starting to look into my options for soundproofing the ceiling and was curious if anyone else has done this. Disclaimer: I’m not handy at all and would need a contractor, I’m not going to ask the neighbor to be quiet because as far as I can tell he’s simply just walking around in his apartment, and I’m not going to go into the past and not buy the place.”
