US Capitol Police: “Officers Arrest Accused Serial Armed Carjackers”

“Two men who are accused of being involved in a series of armed carjackings across the Washington, DC area are facing felony charges because of the work of several United States Capitol Police (USCP) officers.

Just before 5:00 p.m. last night, a USCP patrol officer spotted a stolen Mercedes C-Class driving eastbound, near the U.S. Capitol, on Independence Avenue, SE.

According to law enforcement reports, the driver and the passenger were believed to be armed and dangerous and wanted for open cases across the region.

When officers attempted to stop the stolen Mercedes, the sedan sped away. The car blew through stop signs and red lights. It even went the wrong way down a one-way street and clipped a car before it crashed into parked cars near 12th Street and Independence, SE, where the stolen car stopped.

The officers spotted a gun near the driver and stopped the driver from reaching for it.

The officers recovered a 9mm “ghost gun,” which had a high capacity feeding device that is capable of holding 31 rounds. (more…)

Petite Soeur opened here in October 2021.

Their last IG post was April 30th: “We are growing so much faster than expected and the commissions and corporate gifting arm of our business needs so much attention. This has caused us to not be able to meet all of our retail hours because at times we need all hands on deck for these very large orders. Until we can train a new wave of team members we will have to amend our in person hours so we can meet our online and custom orders. I see these as positive growing pains and we ask that you continue to support us as we grow to be able to meet the incredible demand for the bonbons and sablé cookies you love!!!”

While their website is still live the top has a note saying: “Father’s Day is right around the corner stay posted to see what we are offering!”

“The rats have trampled a ‘highway’ across our grass, there are so many.”

“Dear PoPville,

We live in Near North East, in the middle of 4 empty houses and a massive restaurant. Rats are becoming an increasingly alarming problem in our alley and now our front yards. We have burrows, nests (including under the hood or our cars) and feces everywhere. The rats have trampled a “highway” across our grass, there are so many. “closed road for no reason?”

“Dear PoPville,

10th st between Quincy and Spring has been closed for a long time because of construction.
The building has been done for I think 2 months and no sign of work anymore, but they never reopened the road. It is paved and painted. Seems like they just forgot to pull down the fences. (more…)
