Our PINT & SLICE special has just been updated:

Radius fall menu has been launched last week with a number of brand spanking NEW ITEMS:

And for the little ones, we have a new and improved SOFIA’S SPECIAL: sautéed chicken comes with your selection of spaghetti and veggie. Come give it a try – KIDS EAT FREE every Sunday between 12PM and 5PM!”

“Dear PoPville,

What are folks thinking about Each Peach Market in Mount Pleasant? I *want* to like it; I really do. We live nearby and were delighted when we heard it was coming. However, I’ve now been in three times and only once have been tempted to buy anything. (Blackberries, which at $4/half pint were not cheap, and turned out to be tasteless and lower quality than I get at the Columbia Heights Giant). The other times I’ve been in I’ve been struck by how sparse the place looks. Any new devotees out there? Recommendations for products they carry? How are their sandwiches? Made- in-house products? I want to support a new neighborhood business, but so far have been kind of underwhelmed.”

“Dear PoPville,

My fiancée and I live in mount pleasant and a cat followed us home into our apartment this evening (tues 8/20). She is declawed and although she has a collar she has no tags, which leads us to believe she is an indoor cat that has gotten lost. She was very thirsty, and we are hoping for some help in finding her owners.”

UPDATE – Owner Found – thanks everyone!

“Dear PoPville,

There is a SUPER creepy apartment building at 1647 Lamont St. NW.

The glass doors at the entrance reveal a front vestibule that is completely crowded with plants (which are all well maintained and thriving, so SOMEONE must be taking care of them). Also, if you look closely, there’s a mannequin that sits at the top of the stairs that wears a NEW CHANGE OF CLOTHES EVERY DAY.

What’s even creepier is every accessible entrance has two very prominently displayed cameras. I’ve attached a few pictures.

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 10.47.54 AM

I’ve never seen anyone enter or leave the building.

I found this forum thread though it hasn’t been updated since 2011.

Does anyone have any additional information about this building? It really gives me the heeby jeebies.”

A Mt. Pleasant classic.

Though I have to admit that, lately, whenever I walk past it I expect to see a condos coming soon sign…
