ICYMI: “This summer, Georgetown will become home to the country’s first authentic Greek ice cream shop with the opening of Yala Greek Ice Cream at 3143 N Street NW.
New type of ice cream for the U.S.: Yala, meaning “milk” in Greek, brings 70 years of traditional Greek ice cream-making from the island of Rhodes to the U.S. That includes the recipe, ingredients, timing and technique to make it. The hand-crafted ice cream is made with farm-fresh milk and cream, and premium ingredients sourced from the Mediterranean, and both local and world-renowned producers. Back in 2023 Piccolo suffered a significant fire that required closing/major renovations. Plans were to reopen but Eater reported “Owners of Georgetown’s Ristorante Piccolo Sentenced for Stealing COVID-19 Funds.”

I’m wondering what happened at the Little Words Project (a bracelet making store) on Wisconsin in Georgetown? We went there today (Tuesday 6/24) and it was closed with a sign on the door (see attached photo) saying it was permanently closed and “pray for us.” (more…)
