YELLOW is a Levantine café from Chef Michael Rafidi.
YELLOW first opened in 2020 next door to Albi, its award-winning sister restaurant, in Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood. In 2022 YELLOW debuted in Georgetown and introduced its flagship location in Union Market in 2024.
YELLOW offers easygoing hospitality, a vibrant menu and unique pastry and beverage programs. The café’s savory signatures are inspired by the flavors of Rafidi’s upbringing and include mezze, hummus and pita sandwiches wood-fired to order. Executive Pastry Chef Alicia Wang and her pastry team are the forces behind YELLOW’s viennoiserie: a selection of pastries that combine Levantine flavors with classic French techniques including Za’atar and Labne Croissants, Chocolate 7 Spice Cruffins and Baklava Kouign Amanns.
Coffee Director Ayat Elhag has developed a creative and thoughtfully curated program that celebrates Arabic coffee culture. In addition to all the classics, guests can sip on Baklava Mocha Lattes, Coconut Cardamom Iced Coffees, or a YELLOW ‘Spro.
As a part of our commitment to our team, at YELLOW a 3% employee wellness fee is added to all orders. This charge allows us to provide a benefits package to our staff. This fee is not a tip.”
