Thanks to Margot for passing on the sad word from Salon Roi:

“Friends, it is with mixed emotion that we share this with you! Like millions, we have been struggling for over a year now to keep our DOORS OPEN, while operating 20/30% of our normal capacity and Income. We have done a good job following all the COVID rules to the “T.” AFTER ALL THAT, we were not successful in negotiating a new LEASE. So, like many long-time businesses in Woodley Park, we are forced to close the doors of Salon Roi after 52 years in the same Building.

So, June 30th, we will be leaving Our MARILYN MURAL behind, as we all pack our styling carts and head to SALON ROI (#2) (more…)

Looks Like Rodman’s is Kicking Up Their Cafe a Notch

In December we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Rodman’s had added a Cafe to their grocery (and whatever you want to call the awesomeness that is downstairs.) Now they’ve posted a liquor license placard that says:

“A new class D Restaurant located inside of a full-service grocery store serving breakfast, lunch and pastries. Seating capacity of 56, Total Occupancy Load of 87 and a Sidewalk Café with 56 Seats.” (more…)

Nordstrom Rack Now 70% Off in Friendship Heights Closing Sale, Last Day is 4/30

Thanks to Dave for the update: “You reported earlier about Nordstrom Rack closing in Friendship Heights, and having a 40% off sale. I was just there today and their sale went up to 70% as of today (off of everything in the store, including already marked-down items). Staff confirmed they are closing that location next week on Fri 4/30.”
