Perfect world – who’d you like to see take over the space?

“Dear PoPville,
My 2013 13 inch MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM and 256 solid state drive was stolen Saturday from my white 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid from the street in the 3500 block of 13th Street in Columbia Heights. It is between 13th and Otis and the Mount Rona Missionary baptist church. It came in a black soft laptop case that was recycled plastic/nylon with lime green zipper pulls. I was parked from 11-3, but a witness said that she saw the break in at 2:41 PM when she came back and not before when she left an hour and a half earlier. Also two books were in the laptop case, File Solutions and a Taiwanese New Testament. [email protected]”

From MPD:
“Alert: Shooting at 2220 hrs 1600 Euclid St. NW. No lookout”
Sidenote – for those who inquired about the helicopter further north on 16th:
“In reference to the police activity and the helicopter circling in the vicinity of 16th & Kennedy Streets, NW, MPD units and U.S. Park Police’s helicopter are currently canvassing for a suspect who bailed out of a stolen vehicle.”

Ed. Note: This is the former Senor Chicken space that a commenter said was becoming a Ethiopian Restaurant back in January.
From a press release:
“Arriving in the spring of 2016 at the corner of 14th Street and Park Road (3100 14th Street) is LeTena, a new, fast casual concept Ethiopian restaurant that will feature authentic Ethiopian dishes and a coffee house with barista. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Something really needs to be done to control the skateboarders that on a regular basis use the fountains at Meridian Hill park as a skateboarding ramp. Not only is this a safety issue for skateboarders and others, but the skateboards are also damaging the concrete surface of the fountains. The park is there to be enjoyed by everyone in the way that it was intended to be used. It is not a skateboard park. Let’s stop ruining our park through acts like this and vandalism.”

A reader reports:
“Another prime example of our skilled drivers. Yes the driver left the car like that and after a few hour it still is like. Columbia Heights.”
When parking jobs are this bad, it’s usually a result of getting hit by a car. Though never underestimate…
Update: “Just realized this was a hit and run — police came at 11:30PM with the owner of the car to take note of the crash. I took this picture this AM.”

“Dear PoPville,
In most daily walks with my dog to Meridian Hill Park, I usually am disgusted by the amount of litter, but left feeling a bit less disillusioned today as I found this deceased squirrel who someone decided to honor with a yellow rose.”
I suppose it’s better than the deceased drunken vodka squirrel…
