Early Monday morning (around 8:00 am) while I was walking at Meridian Hill Park, I was confronted by an unhinged man who grabbed my arm and tried to pulled me into the wooded side trail on the side of the park closest to 15th Street. I want to give a shoutout to newly open Halal Kingz!
I live near Halal Kingz and each time I’d walk by it, Mohammed would wave to me and ask me to try it sometime. I was walking to lunch and decided that I’d try Halal Kingz after reading the reviews. Mohammed immediately greeted me, asked me about myself, and told me that he promises I’ll enjoy the falafel gyro I ordered (I’m a vegetarian). I thanked him, waited, and expected to like it like I like most falafel gyros.

Well I’ve been putting this off because I’ve been hoping for a miracle. In January we posted that “Lou’s City Bar has been closed for a few weeks for a “winter refresh” in Columbia Heights. Hopefully only temporary and not “temporary”…”. Turns out it was “temporary” aka permanent despite best efforts. (more…)
