“On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the H Street Festival will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be extensive street closures and parking restrictions that motorists should take into consideration:
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking:
โข H Street from 3rd Street to Florida Avenue, NE
Approximately 50 feet north and south of both sides of H Street on 4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street, 7th Street, 8th Street, 9th Street (north side only), 10th Street, 11th Street, 12th Street, 13th Street, and 14th Street, NE
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic:
โข H Street from 3rd Street to Florida Avenue, NE
โข Florida Avenue from Staples to H Street, NE (No eastbound traffic on H Street, NE)
Please note, vehicle traffic will not be able to cross H Street from 3rd Street to Florida Avenue, NE from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Residents or visitors to the streets north or south of the event area will need to plan their routes to access their destination without crossing H Street.”

After graduating from High School, he went to France where he lived for seven years studying and playing music. He has taught French to children, and played music with various bands in the Washington area for more than 20 years. He now teaches French in an immersion school using music as a vehicle. Mama Elena is a Latin Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, based in Washington, DC. Originally from Managua, Nicaragua, Mama Elena got her start in childrenโs music playing guitarrรณn (mariachi bass) with the Latin Grammy-nominated artist Sonia de los Santos and starring in Soniaโs off-Broadway production of โMรบsicaโ in 2024. In addition to performing for kids, she is leader of the bilingual Latin-folk project Elena La Fulana, is an eight-time recipient of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Artist Fellowship, has been nominated for two Wammie Awards, and was part of the Washington City Paperโs People Issue 2017. From 2018-2023 Elena toured with the Latin Grammy-winning band Flor de Toloache with whom she received a Latin Grammy nomination in 2022.

In this 45-minute interactive show, theyโll use art and science to find treasure in the world around them.The Whyrates are a dynamic pirate duo on a mission to bring wonder back to scienceโand swashbuckling fun to all! Featuring science-savvy Juarez MโGold and fiddling virtuoso Sage OโSilver, they get kids singing, dancing, and discovering the magic of the high seas. Their interactive shows can be pure pirate musical fun, educational science adventures, or anything in-between. With different themed shows available, theyโll tailor the experience to fit the venueโwhether that means launching fire, mixing potions, or just keeping everyone entertained from bow to stern! $15 suggested donation per child.

Join us Maria-ines as we sing, dance, and play together! Using inspiration from childrenโs literature, music, stories and creative movement, we will play and create together in a fun and easy way. These sessions are child and family centered. Come ready to explore, move and be moved.
Maria-innes began working with children while living in San Francisco where she earned her Montessori Teaching certificate. Currently Maria works as a teaching artist for different arts organizations in the area. Having grown up both in Washington DC and Argentina, Maria is a native speaker and conducts classes in both English and Spanish.
