Bindaas will launch Regional Curry Bowls to warm you up in February

“Bindaas, with two locations at 3309 Connecticut Avenue, NW, and within The Shops at 2000 PENN, 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, is pleased to announce the introduction of a new collection of Regional Curry Bowls. Created by James Beard award-winning Group Executive Chef Vikram Sunderam, the new menu addition encourages guests to select one featured bowl filled with a tempting Indian feast, for an affordable $14. Each curry bowl showcases a collection of spices, which will raise the diner’s body’s core temperature, aiding in digestion and increasing blood circulation which helps one stay toasty in frigid temperatures. Bindaas’ new Regional Curry Bowls menu will be available at both locations, exclusively Monday through Saturday during the month of February. (more…)

School of Rock coming to old Palena space in Cleveland Park

Thanks to Aseel for sending word about the coming soon notice from School of Rock: “For over a decade, School of Rock has taught guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys through an innovative performance-based method. Students are put through a series of private lessons and group rehearsals and then get to show off what they learn on real rock stages to real rock audiences.”

Ed. Note: Palena closed back in 2014 and the pain is still real though glad to see the space finally get filled. (more…)

“Metro will make it easy for riders to get to the Smithsonian National Zoo to say bye-bye to Bei Bei, the zoo’s beloved giant panda. Free shuttle buses will drop-off and pick-up customers at the zoo’s entrance while three Red Line stations (Cleveland Park, Woodley Park and Dupont Circle) are closed for major lighting upgrades this weekend. Many of you already know that Peter Weygandt has been importing wines to the United States since 1987, gaining a national and international reputation for the quality of his selections. While it all started with France, Peter has since expanded his portfolio to include Italian, German, Austrian, Australian, and Spanish wines, and he now represents more than 100 producers.
