What are you up to this weekend? We're celebrating ten years of the Weygandt Wines retail store in Cleveland Park! Many of you already know that Peter Weygandt has been importing wines to the United States since 1987, gaining a national and international reputation for the quality of his selections. While it all started with France, Peter has since expanded his portfolio to include Italian, German, Austrian, Australian, and Spanish wines, and he now represents more than 100 producers. The Weygandt Wines retail store was the next natural step. As you have experienced, the store aims to showcase the value, quality, and diversity of wines in Peter's portfolio, as well as highlight the vision of the producers behind them. All of the wines in the store are produced using sustainable, organic, or biodynamic methods by talented people who are passionate about viticulture and winemaking. Their care and dedication is directly reflected in the wines they produce, and represent why Peter's selections stand apart from the rest. So now, ten years later, we'd like to thank you–our customers–for supporting this vision to bring quality, artisanal wines to the Washington, DC area with a special Saturday tasting sale featuring wines from six of our longest-tenured portfolio producers! It's a chance to relive our shop's journey by revisiting some of our first favorites, all in the company of friends and neighbors. And we're offering special anniversary prices on all of Saturday's tasting wines – shop the sale online through the ➡️ in our bio! – On the tasting table: – => Gerard & Pierre Morin Sancerre Chant de L'Orme (2015) – => Weingut F. Last night Haleigh Hoffman tweeted:

“PLEASE be careful while riding scooters and don’t ride them at night. A man just face planted a few feet in front of my car. I had to call 911 because he wasn’t initially responding and bleeding from his head.

His face was pretty messed up and he’s been taken to a nearby hospital. I think he’ll be fine, but It was really scary and I’m shaken up.

scooters aren’t a reasonable mode of transportation at night. It could have been really bad. I could have run this man over if I hadn’t have been paying really close attention.”

I hope the guy is ok and to be honest I hadn’t thought about the safety of riding at night. So I was wondering what you guys think. For those that ride – does it feel safe to ride at night?

Ed. Note: I stopped by to get these photos yesterday and it was the biggest emergency response I have ever seen. These photos don’t do justice to how many responders where there. There were at least two ladder truck, 3 or 4 pumper trucks, multiple police cars, and other fire department vehicles.

Thanks to Eric for passing on from St. Arnold’s Cleveland Park & The Abbey yesterday:
