The area being considered for lease is approximately 38.9 acres and consists of a 7,500-seat tennis stadium, 10 outdoor hard surface courts, 15 outdoor clay courts, a snack bar and pro shop, an office area, recreation fields, picnic areas, and a parking lot that can accomodate 856 vehicles. Simple Bar & Grill, a Brightwood institution for over 12 years (& located just north of Petworth on Georgia Ave) has had to close its doors. Over the years, Wilfredo and the whole Simple team tirelessly supported area families and businesses, DC’s LGBTQ+ community, local music & arts scenes, & more. As they are now faced with financial challenges due to the unexpected closure, I’ve started a GoFundMe to help with the unforeseen expenses.”

“I think they opened over the weekend. Just got a latte and some banana bread this morning. It’s cute, though maybe not as cute as La Coop. Definitely an asset for this section of Kennedy. I can see myself working there sometimes.”
