Poplar is open at 701 Kennedy St. NW in Brightwood Park. It’s so good to have an intimate and classy place like this in the neighborhood!
I spoke with the owner (note: it’s the same guy who owns the nearby Anxo and Brightwood Pizza), and he said Poplar has been open for the past 10 days now. It is a reservation-only, adults-only restaurant that officially opens on Valentine’s Day. The menu changes weekly and mostly features farmed and foraged offerings from local suppliers.
Keep an eye on the restaurant’s Instagram page (@poplarkennedy), where every Tuesday they announce the menu and open reservations for the week. Dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated at this time, but the changing menu means that everyone can find something they like in one week or another. Judging from the looks of it, I’m sure this place will be in high demand and I wish them much success!”
