Get Ready – Art All Night is this Saturday – Where You Can Find The Action

It will be epic. This year neighborhoods where you can the action are: Congress Heights, Dupont Circle, H Street, NE, North Capitol (Bloomingdale, Truxton Circle), Tenleytown, Van Ness

From Art All Night DC:

“Art All Night: Made in DC is Washington, DC’s free overnight arts festival, starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 and running until 3:00 AM the following morning. The festival will take place in seven DC Main Streets neighborhoods, bringing visual and performing arts, including painting, photography, sculpture, crafts, fashion, music, dance, theater, film, and poetry, to indoor and outdoor public and private spaces, including businesses.

A ‘pre-party’ sponsored by JBG will begin at 4:00 PM on the 1900-2100 blocks of 8th Street, NW in Shaw, with over 25 aerialists, jugglers, gymnasts, and other performers from the Nuit Cirque troupe, in addition to art installations and music in businesses along those blocks.”

38th Annual Adams Morgan Day is Sunday!

“38th ANNUAL ADAMS MORGAN DAY– the longest continuously running neighborhood festival in the nation’s capital — once again invites residents, neighbors and friends to experience our renowned eclectic culture, businesses and lively artistic beat this Sunday, September 11, from noon to 6 p.m., centered at 18th Street NW and Columbia Road NW, and at participating Adams Morgan businesses. Bands play all day at SunTrust Plaza; artists will vend on the corner plazas and in front of businesses; and games take place in Unity Park. A pre-arranged basketball tournament will be held simultaneously at Kalorama Park. 18th Street will remain open and visitors will enjoy specials at the many international and local sourced participating restaurants of Adams Morgan. MPD notes: 17th Street NW from R Street to P Street NW will be closed from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday.

17th Street Festival‘s facebook page says:

“The 7th Annual 17th Street Festival, a community-building event celebrating the shops, restaurants, and services of 17th Street, will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. The street festival will include artists, artisans, for profit vendors, politicians, kids activities, and a pet area – rain or shine

The 17th Street Festival will include entertainment all day, including a marching band to open the festival, mariachi band to enliven the day, a Chinese dragon dancer to add some mystery, and a New Orleans jazz band to bring some charm. (more…)

“The 2016 H Street Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from noon – 7 p.m. This year’s event will span 10 blocks of H Street NE with 14 staging areas, dozens of interactive attractions and displays and over 250 businesses, restaurants, community organizations and vendors. Join us for great entertainment, food, drinks, contests, family-friendly activities and more!

Organized by H Street Main Street, the annual event highlights the unique spirit of the H Street NE Corridor and is one of the most popular in the D.C. region. It’s been named the best community Festival by The Washington City Paper for the last six years and regularly attracts a crowd of over 125,000 fun-seekers.

Attendees coming to the Festival to enjoy music, contests and other entertainment, won’t be disappointed. The Festival will have a variety of shows, featuring some of the best local and regional performers in Go-Go music, rap, R&B, jazz, rock-n-roll, soul music, gospel and more.
